Do We Really Know the Reason Behind McCain's Choice for Vice Presidential Running Mate Governor Palin?
What is the "Real" Palin Connection?
However, as far as politics go, it is very disconcerting that a person who could be second in charge does not possess nearly enough governmental experience to run a nation that is world class in the eyes of other countries. yes, we don't dispute that she has experience, she does, however its not governmental experience in Washington which is very different that governing a frozen ice cap and tundra, with the energy producers being the only segment of commerce that must be delt with during her tenure. Therefore, my assessment is that there must be other motives for having her on the Republican ticket. Those reasons might be summed as the following:
She will further the agenda of the hard right wing religious fanatics, just like Ronald Regan did;
She will further the work started by Ronald Reagan, a favorite of McCain;
She appears on the surface to have great capability as an orator and "speech maker", something John McCain does not possess, Ronald Reagan did;
She appears to "mirror" McCain, but she more closely mirrors Ronald Reagan but from the female perspective; and
She combines the best and worst of very conservative Republican politics, which is what the party has wanted for a long time, just like they got with Ronald Reagan.
These few statements serve to describe the woman, mother, and politician for whom we have the choice this November to either show our support , or we can be cautious and unpredictable. I do not believe that it was by mistake that she referred to former President Ronald Reagan several times during the Vice Presidential debates. That was the party's way of reassuring the more conservative voters of the Republican party that all would be OK. Either way, the choice belongs to the American people who reside in all fifty states and terriories. Her demeanor alone, whether she's acting in the official capacity of Vice President or not, is one of changability. She has never made the jump from Small Town to large town and all the ills that come with that position. Quite frankly, some of her small town attitude is very small minded thinking for today's society.
