Do We Still Look to the Cross?

Jean Davis
Centuries have passed since Jesus was crucified.

In these modern-day times we need to be reminded now and then.

We need to be reminded of how Jesus died and how He came to life again.

The crosses hanging from a chain around the neck don't tell the story, you see.

They're pretty to look upon and some quite costly, but the most expensive and costly one was made from a tree.

It cost the life of God's own Son.

There is no way we can imagine the pain and agony Jesus endured.

He suffered and died that horrible death that we who will believe can have eternal life assured.

Please don't think of that story as a fairy tale or a horror scene from someones' imagination.

It's a story that needs to be passed on from generation to generation.

Think of a Mother's pain and heartbreak as she sees her son hanging there.

She knew He was special from the time of the angel's visit but now what she feels is despair.

Her son was guilty of no wrongdoing but He gave Himself willingly

According to His Father's plan.

From the time Adam and Eve fell from grace in the garden, God made a way for the redemption of man.

The next time you see or wear a pretty cross think of the old rugged cross of calvary's hill.

Jesus no longer hangs on that cross and the grave is empty, still.

Jesus is just as much alive as the day He was born.

He sits at His Father's right hand.

He is our intercessor to God our Father.

On that promise we can surely stand.
