There are many different types of homemade invitations you can create with either scraps laying around your house, your computer, or making a quick visit to your local craft store.
Here are some great Do-it-yourself tips to making your Christmas Party Invitations this year:
1. Graphic Design 101: If you have a computer, you can make great professional looking invitations. If the only graphic program you have, is print shop that came with your computer's software, that will still be a great tool to use. You can either make your entire invitation using the print shop, or you can make parts that will use with your invitation (for example: stickers, stamps, small images). You can use any colors you want, and erase it and re-do it as many times as you need. Print it either from your home computer, or for a high quality, bring it to your local print shop.
2. Card Stock, Pen and Magic Markers- If you have the drawing ability, then putting your skills to the test is the perfect solution to homemade invitations. Grab some white card stock, and draw some Christmas pictures on one side of the card stock and fill it in with color. The other side of the card stock can be used for the text information on where and when the party is. You can step up the creativity by adding glitter, or adding a larger piece of different colored card stock to attach to the back for an easy border to your invitation.
3. Photo Memories - If you have photos of snow, mountains, past Christmas', or even can manage to take some newer pictures of Christmas themed objects, you can take these pictures paste or tape it to the front of a blank folded piece of card stock. In the card, fill out your party details, and you have a wonderful personalized and unique Christmas party invitation.
4. Add the Glitz - If you like surprises or you know that the part invites like surprises, make Christmas confetti, and make it with some glitter, or little fake pieces of snow. Create a simple small card with the party details and stuff it in the envelope, and fill with all of the confetti. When your (understanding) guests open your stuffed envelope, they'll get an early Christmas surprise.
5. Scrap Booking for Invitations - Cut out Christmas pictures from magazines or old photos and make a photo collage of Christmas themed objects on each invitation. This might take a little more time than the others, but the outcome is a great personalized invitations and its fun looking for Christmas pictures around your house. Your guests will enjoy looking at your invitations longer then just to find out where and when the party is.
