Do it Yourself Homemade Valentine's Day Gift Instructions

How to Make an Amazing V-Day Present for Your Loved Ones

Samuel Hamilton
In the age of mass production, we all find ourselves buying pre-made cards from the store. Creating a personal card by hand has become a lost art. Instructions follow to make a spectacular card that will be a Valentine's Day gift by itself. Making the card much larger than expected, as the instructions indicate, makes it even more unique!

Materials:
Large Poster Board
Colored Craft Paper
Scissors
Tape
Glue
Markers

Instructions:
1. Pick a color of large poster board to be the main body of the card.

2. Fold the selected poster board in half across the longer dimension.

3. Select a theme for the card based on the person who will receive it. This can be anything from horses to airplanes to video games to football.

4. Cut out a heart from the craft paper.

5. Use the craft paper and any other relevant materials to create an object representative of the chosen theme. This could be a horse, airplane, football, or any other item. Make it about the width of the card and a little shorter than the heart.

6. Cut a small slit in the middle of the heart. Then tear a gap in the heart about the size of the object you created in the prior step.

7. Slide the object through the hole in the heart so that it extends out both sides. This gives the appearance that the object is shooting through the heart just like an arrow in traditional Valentine's Day images.

8. Finish the front with some after effects related to the theme. This might be clouds for an airplane theme, trees for a horse theme, or a scoreboard for a football theme.

9. Glue or tape all the items onto the cover and let them dry.

10. Continue the theme on the inside of the card with more decorations.

11. Write a personalized message to the person you love to celebrate Valentine's Day!

12. Make sure to sign your name so that the recipient knows who to thank!

That's all it takes to create a wonderful, handmade, Valentine's Day gift that people will be bragging about for years to come! So get those craft skills going!
