Invitations
Invitations can really eat into your wedding budget. Instead of spending an arm and a leg on invitations try printing them yourself. If you have a computer and a printer you can have beautiful inexpensive invitations. Many stores such as Walmart and Micheals now sell DIY invitations kits for as cheap as $20. You can choose from many designs and number of invitations. Most packs will include RSVP cards and envelopes. You may also choose to personalize your invitations with stickers, jewels, or ribbons. The possibilities are endless.
Favors
Favors are always a fun idea but can be very costly. Instead of buying trinkets not everyone will like buy small bags in bulk and fill with candy. A great idea is to purchase bags in the color of your wedding. Ebay has many sells who sell small bags in a rainbow of colors for cheap. Another great favor idea are chocolate lollipops. There are wide ranges of candy molds for sale at craft stores and Ebay. To make you simple melt chocolate fill molds and place stick in slot. Once the chocolate has hardened place in clear bag and tie with a ribbon in your wedding colors.
Centerpieces
Centerpieces can be very costly but an important part of the reception. A simple centerpiece is a medium round vase filled with pebbles of your wedding color and a pillar candle. You can also tie ribbons around the vase or candle. These are lovely and very cheap.
Food
Making food for your wedding can be time consuming but very cheap. Make platters of cheese, meats, vegetables, and fruit can save time. You can also make sandwiches with crust cut off and in different shapes. Another great idea is a candy buffet. Fill different glass containers and vases with candy in your wedding colors. Vases and containers can be picked up at thrift stores and garage sales for very cheap. Just remember to wash thoroughly.
Do it yourself wedding ideas may take more planning and time but you can still have a lovely wedding without breaking the bank. Don't forget to get your family and bride maids in on the fun and planning.
