Doc's Opinion on the Latest Health Care Reform Bill Abortion Restrictions

Restrictions on abortion in the health care reform bill? If you ask Doc I would say that abortion should simply be outlawed altogether. Simply restricting it isn't enough. Sure, restrictions may save some innocent lives but outlawing it, like any other form of murder, will save thousands more lives.

Now, Doc isn't insensitive. I do understand that there are those circumstances, like when a pregnancy could jeopardize a woman's life, that warrant an abortion. However, more times then not, abortions are simply a way for a woman to throw away her unwanted child. Is it truly the child's fault that the parent got themselves pregnant? No, of course not. It is the parent's fault and theirs alone. That is why the child should not be punished by death for a crime that they never committed.

A parent needs to take responsibility by being an adult and saying, "Well, I messed up but it is not my child's fault. Let's look into adoption or find out if someone within the family would want the child, like say a grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin or step-parent." Once a suitable parent is found then the parent who wants to dispose of their child needs to only wait 9 months before being able to do so. A simple C-Section will remove the unwanted child with minimal impact on the parent and allow the child to live the life that God intended for them.

What really amazes me about this entire thing is that when a parent decides they don't want a child after it is born and then murders it, they go to jail. When a parent doesn't want an unborn child and they murder it they get away with it. Either way, an innocent human has just had their life snuffed out completely. Is that truly fair? If you don't want your child then I know of many couples who would be more then delighted to have it and love it unconditionally. As a matter of fact, look at the long waiting lines at the local adoption shelters and the baby traffickers that are popping up all over the world trying to illegally fill the demand. So, if you are heartless enough to not love your baby then why not at least give it a chance to find someone who will love it? Adoption is far better then abortion by all means.
