Doctor's Doctored English

T. Ramaswamy
Dr. Dullard is a man of broken English. He is short, measuring less than 5 feet. One day the daughter of his close friend goes to him on a social call. He receives her with enthusiasm and in the excitement of seeing her after a long time he breaks his exuberance and says:
Helen, I am seeing you after months. Yesterday I saw your reproduction in the newspapers.
Helen: What Dr. What do you mean by reproduction?
Dr.: I mean your photo in the newspapers. You appeared along with a group of students singing a choir.
Helen: Thank God. I was afraid whether I had not made my attire secured.
Dr. :Do you ever think I will let you down by unpalatable comments?
Helen: No. Not at all. I very well know you will live up to your name.
