Dodge Goes Pinkish

Has Dodge Gone Soft, or is Fuchsia the New Sports Car Color?

Micheal E. Brinkley
The Dodge Challenger, a tough built muscle car, has been a very common sports vehicle in the United States since the 1960's. This vehicle packs a punch that's bound to get the attention of car lovers everywhere looking for an American car with power. These cars are real powerhouses and have been. That's why there are so many men who purchase Challengers. According to Chrysler, Dodge's parent company, about 85% of the Challengers sold are purchased by men. That might have something to do with their new style.

When most guys hear about the color fuchsia they don't think of a muscle car. Actually, I don't think anyone would think of a powerhouse like the Challenger when they think of the color fuchsia. You mention the words Detonator Yellow or Plum Crazy, then you might think of the Challenger. But, that might all be coming to an end. In 2010, the Challenger line will be introducing a special edition of the Challenger! Furious Fuchsia is the color. Yes, that's right, Furious Fuchsia. The bright purple-pink color will now be seen on the Dodge Challengers.

You might think that Dodge has gone soft with this idea. That's not the case. For some odd reason, the new color seems to fit well in the new cars. With the white interior and the almost pink exterior, only true men could pull off driving one. Okay, maybe not all true men, but only the ones with deep enough pockets or some great credit. Dodge will only be making 400 of the 425-horsepower SRT-8's with Furious Fuchsia! When they say special edition, they really mean special. The less powerful 400-horsepower R/T's will also be limited, but the total number is unknown.

If you're even curious about this car, i suggest saving now as the price will most likely be moderately high, being estimated around $35,000 for the R/T and $45,000 for the SRT-8's. On the other hand, if you purchase this vehicle, you will have the rarest Dodge Challenger to come out of their plants. Ladies, you might also want to take a peek. These cars have enough power to make all the guys step back and show some respect but with a color that is bound to show off your feminine side. Overall, the new challengers are great rides for both men and women and are bound to go fast. So keep an eye out, the cars will be coming to dealerships nationwide starting in March, 2010!
