Does the Bible Promote Hate Against Homosexuals?

Part 2 of a Series

Pamela Gardapee
The Bible says, that homosexuality goes against the teaching of God. Because one person says it, does it make it true? I for one do not believe anything that cannot be said to me personally. How can one believe everything that they read without merit? Have you ever met the one who was the creator of the Bible and its spoken word? Do you know anything about him other than his name? Who gave him this name? Who made him God and not you or me? I don't promote hate with the spoken word, so I therefore could not be called God.

In the book of Leviticus, it says that a man should not lay with another as he lies with a woman. Another verse says that a man that sleeps with another man will be executed. The verses would not promote hate if it wasn't for the execution part of the verse. Therefore, yes, the Bible as everyone reads it does promote hate.

If you think about the people that have been killed for being gay, it is appalling. For instance, Tyler and Matthew Williams killed a gay couple inside of their own home because they were gay. Matthew told his mother that he had to obey God's law and not mans law. He felt that he was supposed to kill because he was following a higher law, Gods law.

When Matthew Sheppard was viciously murdered, a pastor form North Carolina actually published a letter in regards to the trial being held against Aaron McKinney who was being held accountable for senseless death of Sheppard. The letter read, "Gays are under the death penalty. His blood is guilty before God. If a person kills a gay, the gay's blood is upon the gay and not upon the hands of the person doing the killing. The acts of gays are so abominable to God. His word is there and we can't change it."

Now I ask you, does the Bible and those that teach the Bible promote hate against gays? The answer is yes. The part of the letter by the pastor from North Carolina confirms this thinking. A man of God, supposedly, did not blame McKinney for the death of Sheppard because Sheppard was gay.

The Bible promotes more than just hate against gays. Continue the series to find out what else the Bible promotes for an eye opening that is a wake up call to what people consider gospel or do they.
