Does "Bo the Bailer" Tell Us a Lot About Modern Relationships? [YouTube VIDEO]
"Bo the Bailer" Exibited Three Traits Which Shows What is Wrong with Modern Relationships
The two look like your typical young Texan couple. She's nicely done up with blonde hair and a cute smile and he's wearing preppy clothing. They are smiling and holding hands. Before the whole foul ball incident, you would almost look at them and smile.
But Bo bailed when Sarah needed him. She didn't see the ball coming. I'm not saying he should have jumped across her lap or anything - but at least warning her or giving her a push out of the way would have been something nice to do.
Furthermore, after the incident Bo was seen holding the foul ball. Now, you would expect that since the girl is the one who got hit with the ball she would be the one who got to keep it. Not so. In the video below, you can see that he's holding on to the ball and even grabs it back from her after she had it in her hand.
In Texas, there are nearly 7.6 marriages per year per 1,000 people and a divorce rate of 3.3 to the same. This shows that many marriages end in divorce, although statistical evidence from the state as to the true divorce rate is not available. Watching "Bo the Bailer" you can kind of see why. Here are three things I saw:
Bo the Bailer Thought of Himself First
Marriage is supposed to be selfless. Yes, you should take care of yourself -but you should always strive to have your spouse in the front of your mind. Bo thought only of himself. Sarah was an afterthought.
Bo the Bailer Showed Little Remorse
We all make mistakes. Bo made a mistake, and he's only human. He has that right. However, he showed no remorse. He kind of laughed about the whole thing. Yeah, it's funny looking back at the situation but if he genuinely cared about his relationship with this girl, he would have looked like he was sorry.
Bo Showed Little Compassion
Sarah looked hurt - not just physically but also her feelings. Bo didn't appear to console or comfort her. As mentioned before he sort of laughed and acted embarrassed. He did little to make her feel better.
Will Bo and Sarah make it? Who knows. But the traits from the situation go to give indication as to what is wrong with relationships today. If people thought of their spouses first, showed remorse when they made mistakes, and showed compassion they could find that their relationships would last longer.
