Here are 10 ways in which your boss shows you his appreciation:
1. He doesn't make you too many compliments
Similar to our parents, the superiors give more attention to mistakes. So even if he would come to your office someday to tell you that you've done a great job, he might not comment too much; that because your work is good, very good. The silence might express his appreciation regarding your professional results.
2. You're afraid to ask your boss for some days off
When the boss likes you, he wants you to stay at work, in order to work as much as possible. If he doesn't seem too pleased by your request for a vacation, he does this because he appreciates you. On the other hand, if he seems doesn't care about your request for 3 consecutive weeks of vacation, maybe you should think about ways in which you can make him feel your absence.
3. The superior of your boss knows your name
If you go to a meeting and the big boss tells you that he heard wonderful things about you, it means that someone made you good recommendations.
4. He gives you too many tasks
When the boss asks you to accomplish increasingly more tasks, it doesn't mean he hates you; by the contrary, he counts on your professional skills and wants to promote you.
5. You saw him angry
Your boss was angry, but not because of you. It's not about a crazy boss, who yell to everybody; we're talking about an ordinary man who gets mad from time to time. If you saw him in this mood, it means that he trusts you enough to express his thoughts in your presence.
6. He said he needs your help
It's difficult for a boss to admit that he doesn't have all the answers; but if he asks for your help, it means that he appreciates you and he considers you closed to him.
7. The boss asks you what you think about other employees
If the boss asks you what your view about the new employees is, it means that he counts on your opinion and that he just offered you a vote of confidence.
8. He know personal details about you
It's true, he might have a super assistant, who writes on a list all birthdays and personal details about the company's employees, but you should consider this: he doesn't ask everyone in the office about their cat's hernia intervention. If he remembers this kind of things, it means that he really cares.
9. The boss gives you explanations
A boss who believes in you will explain you why your idea doesn't work, because he's sure that, once you'll have all the details, you'll be able to make something good.
10. He talks with you about great things
When the boss shares you his strategic ideas, it means that he sees you as a business partner, and not as an ordinary employee. So if you ever thought to ask him for a promotion, now is the time!

Post a CommentEye opening tips and very true, we do seem to take some things for granted until they're pointed out to us. Managers do not dwell much on good performances, when you do something well they get over it very fast as they're now looking to the next thing you're going to do well
I have to say, I've had bosses who didn't appreciate me much..needless to say, I very much disliked the job.
