Does Your Bra Measure Up?

Marcy Mobley
Not likely , if you are one of those sixty percent of women wearing the wrong bra size, or maybe you fit in with that lingering twenty percent who are just wearing the wrong style bra. Bras are an everyday part of our life, some for comfort, a few for shaping or enhancement and others simply just to make us feel sexy. But one thing we all are looking for is the perfect fit.

I will stick to the two most important topics, measuring size and finding the right style. Ladies be the bra expert in your circle of friends, daughters, grand daughter's and sisters and lets get out your soft measuring tape and become educated on these over the shoulder boulder holders. After we have narrowed down your size we can determine style. This article is one that should be cut along the dotted line and placed delicately in your bra drawer for years to come, given that our bra sizes change all thanks too our nemesis age and gravity, measure yourself at least once a year for any changes in band, cup or style.

: You will need a soft measuring tape.

Wearing a lightly line bra- measure around your back just under your shoulder blades.

STEP 1. ] Hold the soft measuring tape around the back at the band level- bring it around the front just above your bust

This is your band size _(if the numbers odd round down) ex. 37 would be rounded down to 36

STEP 2 ] Measure around your back across the fullest part of your bust

This is your bust measurement_(if it falls on the ½ inch round up. ex 38 ½ would be 39

Subtract the band size from the bust measurement .

Difference equals your Cup size is

0 inches Your a AA , 1 inch is an A cup , 2 inch is a B cup, - 3 inches is a C cup - 4 inches your a D cup, 5 inch defference your a DD cup.

Example; if your bust measurement is a 39 subtract your band measurement is which in this example is 36

the difference is 3 inches which would make you a C cup, So your band size is a 36 and your cup is a C your bra size is a 36C.

So now that we know which size we are lets move onto fit and style, this is almost as important as sizing.

Push up bras- Flatter your silhouette by adding lift and padding of different levels Great for cups AA- A-B-C

Full Coverage bra- Complete coverage and Support- Cups are larger- straps are thicker.

Great if your C-D-DD and up . look to purchase a full coverage bra that is lightly lined this will give you the coverage you want with a minimal amount of padding.

Demi Style- Smaller cups almost half a cup of a full coverage bra- More revealing but still provides a smooth shape. This is a good bra if you are A-B-C

Baloconet bras- Have cups cut straight across, this is good for push up and if your wearing a squareneck top or dress.

This shows a great starting point, but we are all made differently, so if the size you buy is a little to tight around the band, go to a bigger band size, on the other hand if the cups seem to small go up a cup size or try a full coverage bra. Now share this article with all the ladies in your life, and happy bra shopping!!.
