Does Car Color Make a Difference When Choosing an Automobile?
An Option that We Do Not Often Think About
Or, maybe a better question would be, does it say anything at all? Of course, each color of car is reported to say something about the drivers personality. Red cars imply fun loving, white cars imply organization and cleanliness, black professionalism, and so on and so forth. The question, though, is whether or not these definitions actually come out to be true. About 1/5 of all new cars sold are silver, another 1/5 black, and the remaining mostly fall into blue, red, or white. So, is every driver able to lumped into one of five or six possible categories?
Most likely not, and even a person who is not a car enthusiast will be forced to admit that certain cars look better in certain colors. Does that brand new Nissan 350Z look good with burnt orange paint? Of course it does. Does that same color look good on a 1992 Honda Civic? Probably not.
Certain colors simply tend to appeal to drivers, and a large percentage of this deals with the individual car in question, and it may have a lot to do simply with the mood of the driver. After all, many of us find ourselves admiring the color of our cars sometimes and simply ignoring it or brushing it off at other points in time.
While many feel that there may be connections between color and personality, there is really very little proof that such is true. In fact, when it comes to the actual color of a car, it would really make little sense to say that the color makes a definite statement about who we are or any other factor of personality.
Still though, even though the color of your car may not determine your personality, that is no reason not to take some time with your next new car and pick out a color which makes it (and thus you) look great when driving around town. As has been said many times throughout history, though, allow your personality to stand out for itself, and don't rely on a vehicle or, more specifically, the color of a vehicle to say something about you that should be naturally apparent.
