When you sleep your body produces certain proteins, which repairs, reorganizes and forms new connections in the brain. In case you do not sleep well then these proteins are not produced, that is why when you wake you get irritated for silly things. You will not be able to pay concentration towards anything and you will have very low energy.
With the rapid economic development people do not have enough time to catch up on their sleep. They are busy trying to make money, to keep their lives going, ignoring the importance of sleep and its effects. It is not only people who are working in BPO's or IT firms which suffer from lack of sleep. The modern lifestyle has made even the common man to go to bed late.
They either spend late hours in the night partying and get back to sleep late or even at home they have dinner late in the night and then go to sleep. When you eat and immediately go to bed is when you get nightmares and acidity, which results in disturbed sleep.
What most of them do is making up for the sleep they lost during the week in the weekend. That is during the weekdays they are busy with their job skipping their sleep and in weekends they only sleep to make up for the sleep they lost the entire week. This idea is very wrong. This kind of a sleeping pattern can have adverse effects to your health.
Coffee can also be a culprit to disturb your sleep. As caffeine increases the latency period before onset of sleep and disrupts the stages of sleep.
Never depend on alcohol, cough syrups or sleeping pills to get sleep. It is the most dangerous way one can choose to get some sleep. Doctors have faces wirer a person who takes pills to sleep. When missed for just tow nights suffered from seizure. So why go and burn your finger when told fire will burn you.
So don't ignore sleep. Six to seven hours of sleep is a must for elders and eight to ten hours of sleep for children. You should have a regular sleeping pattern to keep you healthy and energetic.
