Does Frank's Box Really Communicate with the Dead?

How One Invention Might Help You Communicate with Spirits

Lisa Hoskins
Frank Sumption is the original creator of the ghost box, otherwise known as "Frank's Box". He created the device as a means of communicating with higher-level spirits such as angels and spirit guides. But the device is being tested by paranormal investigators around the world and is creating a buzz within the paranormal community.

Frank's Box scans AM and FM frequencies in a continuous fashion, creating white noise, which people believe spirits can use to communicate with. The box is said to be interactive because you can ask questions directly to the spirits and receive replies from them as you are talking. Frank Sumption made the box using radio, electric and computer components. He made the first box in 2002, after being prompted to do so from the spirit world. At the time, he made less than 3 dozen, and eventually gave a few of them out to selective participants so that they could test them out for themselves to see if the boxes could be used to communicate with spirits from the other side.

Recently, Christopher Moon appeared on Paranormal State, featured on A & E, and used what he termed "the telephone to the dead". Frank Sumption had given Mr. Moon one of his devices to test out, and since then Mr. Moon has begun charging clients who want to communicate with passed-over relatives and other spirits, using his telephone to the dead. Rumors have it that Frank Sumption does not agree with Mr. Moon's practices of charging people while using his creation, and that it was never intended for such use.

After word got out about the Frank's Box, people began to do their own experiments and there are quite a few variations on the original device, including the Radio Shack Hack, which is made by altering an AM/FM radio by cutting the mute pin on the radio, so it continuously scans the radio frequencies. Those who have tested this method and other similar methods, say that they have gotten results that are comparable to the original Frank's Box.
Until these devices cropped up, the most widely-used method for spirit communication has been through audio recorders, which can pick up the voices of disembodied spirits on tape (and digital recorders). The newer methods might allow users to have real-time communication with those who have crossed over to the other side. Thomas Edison himself said he thought a device to communicate with spirits should be made, but nobody seems to know whether he actually started work on his own device or not. Whether you are a believer or non-believer, such ideas and theories can certainly raise the interest of people and get them to test such methods out for themselves.

  • Chris Moon Charges? 1/27/2011

Chris Moon doesn't CHARGE people to "Listen to the Franks Box"! He charges people to learn how to properly investigate the Paranormal. The Frank Box sessions are an added bonus! GET IT RIGHT!

My nephew was murdered in October 09. This is an unsolved case. I have felt communication with him since then and been very unsettled. My sister and I met with Chris Moon last night. I didn't disbelieve.....until I heard with my own ears. My nephew spoke to us.(it was his voice) We asked him questions and he answered. WE BELIEVE ,,,,and he answered in only the way that he would know the answers.
oh, there was no charge! Chris and his spirit guide helped us,,,,all of us tremendously. Don't knock it until you try it.

chat to you on a telephone for the dead? Not unless he's an oft repeated radio star on some crappy AM station. Besides, don't you think he has something better to do with eternity, other than talking to your puny earthly ass, telling you to cheer up cause you had a bad day? Use your REAL phone to get a life, seek a mental health expert or better still join some teaching class and get a rudimentary education. Gee the verification words here are unemployment and tutoring, spooky 'cause I'm unemployed and suggested getting tutoring in this piece! Must be a message for MEEEEEEE!

Several things are coming into play here, scumballs that prey on the chronically ignorant and vulnerable, self delusion (possibly schizophrenia - "I heard specific voices"). The description of the box says it "creates white noise spirits can use", no it's white noise a BRAIN can use (though I'd argue most of the noise is fleeting gibberish of radio stations taken totally out of contest). The human brain is designed to interperet things it doesn't at first know by making the most sense of it that it can, that's why people see random ink blots that remind them of butterflies (or something specific to them "it's my grannies fanny" for example). Switch on your TV, put on the static (white noise dots bobbing round the screen) think of a number while staring at it for a minute and you WILL see the number you are thinking off. Is the number really being broadcast? Sure, but amongst all the other dots only you notice it cause it has meaning to you. Did long lost uncle Bob chat to you on

I recently(sceptically) made a ghost box and was very surprised with the results that I've gotten. I've heard specific responses to questions, heard my own name, heard curse words(f u, m f, s o b, etc.). Heard words repeated that I have said, all kinds of stuff thats a little to specific, and explicit, to be mere radio interferance. And I've recorded all of it. As of yet Its been harmless, and very cool. As for "opening the gates of hell" and the "Cris Moon being the chosen one" its just crap Cris Moon has made up to make himself seem important, and to justify charging people. I would definately recomend making one, just look on youtube for directions, just be nice to the "spirits", there just confused people without a body. If you do make one I would also recomend recording your "sessions". I've found that alot of times I've heard missed responses when I listen to the playback.

My experience with the box was very deeply connected to specific events %28tragic and not%29 that were happening in my family at the time. I took a class that Chris Moon was offering at a haunted location in my state. There was no charge for the class or access to the box. Only a charge to rent a room at the hotel that was not mandatory. My grandmother talked to me on that box%2C and the voice was undeniable distinct and clear. We had our own conversation it was not just rambling that made no sense. I think people should open their minds more and not criticize those who believe as uniformed or unintelligent. Have you actually experienced the box or are just making uneducated assumptions%3F

I am surprised by some reactions here. I have bought a ghost box and I am totally impressed by the results. I receive clear answers of my questions. I hear my own firstname ! One day, when I felt bad, I hear several voices saying "hold on" and "optimism" ! It was just amazing.
The people who deny it haven't use it yet !
