Does Gamu Nhengu REALLY Have the 'X Factor'?
This was Gamu's first audition. An arrangement of "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves. Instead of standing on the stage belting out "And I Am Telling You, she decided to mix things up a bit and do something different. Her performance got the audience on their feet, dancing along. While the audience reaction isn't always the best judge - as they have been known to support even the worst acts at times - she obviously connected with them and that is what a good performer must do. She could have run around the stage and really strutted her stuff but instead, there was enough brilliance in her voice to make the performance without theatrics.
The "X Factor" song of the year seemed to be Adele's "Make You Feel My Love", and this is what Gamu chose to sing at Boot Camp. This performance was once again, perfect. It moved the judges to the point where Louis Walsh was crying! Even some of the most seasoned performers can't manage that. Her heart and soul was poured right in that song and that is yet another sign that Gamu has star quality.
Finally, at Cheryl's house, the hopeful chose to sing "Cry Me Out" by Pixie Lott. Again, a flawless audition which had will.i.am nodding along. Yet, when Cheryl gave Gamu the bad news she blatantly said that she loved her but that she needed to get more experience.
Hmm. And how much experience has Cher Lloyd had, exactly? Cher is good, but with the amount of nerves she carries with her, Gamu would have been a much safer choice.
Gamu Nhengu made no mistakes. She was genuine, real and humble throughout the contest which is more than can be said for some of the acts who made it through. Normally, this would be the end of the road, but with news announced that there might be an "X Factor" wild card show next week, she may still have a chance to get back in the game - thus helping restore Cheryl Cole's popularity if she makes the right choice.
Fans' love of Miss Nhengu has been shown in the knowledge that although she didn't make the final twelve, she is still tipped to go far in the competition. Bookies have refused to stop taking bets on her because of the potential wild card show, her odds to win currently stand at 11/2.
If there ever was any real doubt about whether or not Gamu Nhengu has the "X Factor", perhaps her performances and huge fan following can prove that she is indeed, a star.

I think Cheryl was right to leave Gamu out, from the start she played on the sympathy vote, and the minute it went wrong for her, she tries the racist approach! What about all the other contestants who were dropped? have they gone on twitter or to the papers complaining? NO!!! So accept it Gamu being black has nothing to do with it, you just were'nt good enough.
Seems like this is totally unfair. I wonder how much hate mail and nasty tweets Cheryl Cole is getting. Great eporting!

Nicely written. I truly hope they do give her another chance. I can't see Cher getting very far, unless the judges know something that we don't.
