Does Izzie Stevens Have Cancer on Greys Anatomy? All Signs Point to Yes!

Grey's Anatomy is known for taking big risks, and this latest risk did not go unnoticed. Dr. Izzie Stevens and her cardiac patient Denny Duquette held one of the most riveting, heart breaking on screen romances in recent TV . We all fell in love with Denny and the dynamic he created with Izzie Stevens. Writers and producers decided to bring back Denny this season as ... well, as what? Some would surmise that Denny is an angel, others a ghost while some believe he is just a figment of Izzie's imagination

Viewers this season were left wondering why writers chose to bring back Denny? Fans felt it was a step backwards for Izzie, and they voiced it loud on fan sites, boards and blogs. We know now that he was a figment of Izzie's imagination , because Izzie is sick. Izzie has a conversation with Denny and he finally tells her that she is sick , and she needs to figure out what is wrong with herself. He keeps reiterating that SHE is the doctor. Maybe his name should have been Denny McDuh! While that answers one of our questions, but what about the other? What is gong to happen to Dr. Izzie?

This revelation that Izzy could be dying is quite convenient as the rumors have existed since last season that Katherine Heigl has been unhappy with her work on Grey's of late. She slammed the writers by saying she didn't have award worthy work provided to her last season, and her best friend TR Knight has piped up that he isn't happy with his role in Grey's Anatomy. Would Grey's Anatomy be the same without George and Izzy?

There has been no official word from ABC or Shonda Rimes on the exit of either Katherine or TR . The script clearly makes room for Katherine's exit with her cancer scare being written in. Could they be killing off our pretty blonde? Poor Alex Karev has had his hands full with one crazy woman after another, are they dealing his character another blow? I have a feeling that this will not play out this season, but leave us hanging for a mid season arc next year. There is no way they can make a clean break for our Izzie by the end of this season. We may be saying good bye to her by the middle of next season, however.

Two main characters exiting Grey's Anatomy leaves a lot of room for the entrance of some new McBlood! The casting department deserves a standing ovation for their last casting choice of Kevin McKidd as Dr. Owen Hunt. McCrazy (as I like to call him) has brought in a fresh perspective to Seattle Grace and some fiery romance. We need more doctors like that, stat!
