Does the Jenny Craig Diet Really Work?

My Personal Experience with the Jenny Craig Diet

Tracey P
The Jenny Craig diet will make you look like a movie star. Have you seen those commercials showing how amazing Valerie Bertinelli looks since she lost weight on the Jenny Craig diet? She looks amazing and literally half her age.

I, too, have tried the Jenny Craig diet. Unfortunately, I do not look like a movie star, nor do I look half my age. Alas, I have not had the unparalleled success that Valerie Bertinelli has enjoyed. My experience has been more like Kirstie Alley's. Kirstie Alley is an incredibly talented and beautiful woman who simply did not have the willpower to stick to the Jenny Craig diet through maintenence.

Like Kirstie Alley, I initially found myself losing weight quickly and easily on the Jenny Craig diet. The food truly is delicious, although its cost is rather high. Some of my favorite meals on the Jenny Craig diet were the raspberry chocolate cheesecake, the veggie burger on a bun, and the Mexican rice.

When I reached the halfway point between my starting weight and my goal weight, my counselor began to transition me into eating "normal" foods two days per week. This was good news for my financial situation, but bad news for my willpower. After being reintroduced to the joys of cheeseburgers, hot dogs, fried chicken fingers, and ice cream, my resolve floundered then sank.

During the very important phase of the Jenny Craig diet when I was supposed to exhibit mastery over my cravings, I failed miserably. My rapid weight suddenly reversed and the weight began to pour back on like maple syrup on pancakes.

If the question is "Does the Jenny Craig diet work?" my answer would have to be a completely honest "Yes!" The Jenny Craig diet works, but I failed to work it. Once I regained a ridiculous amount of weight, I was ashamed to go back on the Jenny Craig diet. Like Kirstie Alley, I discovered that the Jenny Craig diet was not the miracle weight loss program I had been seeking.

The Jenny Craig diet is nutritionally balanced and effective. I highly recommend it to anyone who is willing to spend the money that it costs. In addition to the money, the Jenny Craig diet requires an immense amount of willpower. It is only fair to mention that this is something that must be supplied by the dieter. Perhaps if I ever find myself in supply of willpower, I shall try the Jenny Craig diet again.
