Does Kim Kardashian Top the Long List of Short Celebrity Marriages?

If you thought it was just the other day that you were reading about Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries' wedding, you were right. Just 72 days after the ceremony that the bride called, "the happily ever after she'd always dreamed of," she is filing for divorce.

The couple were engaged six months after they started dating, and married just three months later. What seemed a mismatched pair, at least height wise, was apparently a true disaster. The $10 million wedding was said to have been one of the most costly of all time, and it also sounds like it turned out to be the biggest waste of money of all time.

The divorced was filed officially, on Halloween, and the reason was listed as "irreconcilable differences."

I guess it's better to realize sooner than later that you've made a mistake, rather than spending years of your life unhappy, but this was certainly a whopper. Of course, in Tinsel Town, short lived marriages are quite common.

In 1994, Drew Barrymore married a bar owner, Jeremy Thomas. They hired a clairvoyant clergyman they found on a psychic hotline to perform the ceremony at 5:00 a.m. on March 20 that year. On April 28, Barrymore filed for divorce. At least it was a cheapie wedding.

We all know about the short lived marriage of one of the most famous basketball stars, Dennis Rodman. He married sex kitten Carmen Electra at the "Little Chapel of the Flowers" in Las Vegas in 1998. Rodman initially wanted an annulment because he said he'd been intoxicated at the time, but they later reconciled, only to divorce in 1999.

Of course, there is beautiful, and short, actress Eva Longoria who married NBA star Tony Parker. At least their three year marriage lasted a little longer than the others, but it might prove that a match between a television star and a basketball player is probably not the best idea.

Actress and model Ali Landry and actor Mario Lopez dated for six long years before tying the knot, but it was only two weeks before the marriage fell apart. Lopez admitted to rampant cheating, including a liaison at his "wild bachelor party."

When Kardashian decides to take the leap again, perhaps she should consider a cheap quickie wedding, just in case.
