Does the Military Have the Swing Vote for 2008 Elections?

Being in the Military is stressful and demands dedication and above all, honor. Military men and women place their (you know what) on the line everyday to secure our safety from terrorism. Around the world they are stationed with only one mission in mind: "get the job done right and go home." They rely on their leaders to fashion the strategy and make the plans to ensure they are successful and can return home. Leadership from the top down is in command and determines the courses of action the military take in all combat related situations. So, the Commander-in-Chief, the President of the United States needs to know what it takes to be the leader of leaders for our military to follow.

The question on the minds of the military is which of the presidential candidates have the "stuff" it takes to lead with gusto and guts? After all, if you have ever been in a combative environment, you would know that combat is no place for wimps. So, when you boil it down, does McCain or Obama have what it takes to be the leader we need in the war against terrorism?

Terrorism is a fierce enemy and can only be dealt with swiftly and with determined force. It takes a leader who is willing to do what is needed to win in this fight. Such a leader needs to know the ins and outs of the battlefield and have the where with all to meet this enemy and defeat it. Members of the military are asking for some evidence as to which of these candidates can handle this leadership.

Military votes account for a percentage of the electorate. As such, their leadership concern is something the candidates need to address and not ignore. For the military, this next election is super important to their personal and professional futures. Not to mention, the futures of their family members are affected as well. So, these candidates will need to somehow "show their metal" in some way that satisfies the military voters and their families. These voters will be watching and waiting for the signs of leadership that will give them what it takes to defeat the enemy.

This is where the rubber meets the road. Which of these candidates can be trusted to be the kind of leader it takes to get the job done right, so we can all go home?
