For those who haven't heard of the Mindful Eating Program let me take a minute to summarize it for you. The Mindful Eating Program is a dieting program that is based on only eating when you are physically hungry and not when you are mentally hungry. In other words if you feel like eating but your stomach isn't aching you should fight the urge until it is. The Mindful Eating Program is designed to teach you the difference between true hunger and cravings. It also gives you tips on how to be successful in doing this. Another aspect of the Mindful Eating Program is that one should not count calories or plan meals but simply "listen to your body" and eat what you want until you are full.
The average self hating dieter hears "Only eat when you are physically hungry" and thinks that sounds good. The idea of eating when you are not physically hungry is fat person thinking right? WRONG! If you wait until you are physically hungry to eat you will gorge. You should never let your hunger get to the point where your body has to deliver an urgent message telling you to eat. That advice coupled with the idea of eating until your body tells you it's full is absolutely reckless. It's takes 20 minutes for your body to know that it's full. If you eat until your body tells you that you are no longer hungry you will have already over eaten. Imagine the amount of calories you could consume while in a starving frame of mind and 20 minutes until you feel physically satisfied. The Mindful Eating Program is full of bad advice.

Eat 3 full meals a day; breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Between each meal plan small healthy high fiber snacks along with a glass of water. Don't expect to lose more than a pound or two a week, give it time to work. Most importantly stay focused on the plan and pay no attention to any distractive gimmick diets like the Mindful Eating Program.
The Mindful Eating Program is the new, shiny buzz diet to try but if you think about it that's all it really takes to sell things nowadays. Don't be fooled by the glamour of all the smoke and mirrors. When it comes to weight loss there hasn't been much change to what Jack LaLanne has been telling us since 1951.
