If you have a child with autism or another disorder or disability, healing is a subject you think about often. Let us not forget that when we hire therapists, do special diets and give our children supplements, what we are really asking for is healing. Healing is mysterious and within the realm of the divine. How do children heal? Why do some get better than others? What factors are responsible for healing or failure to heal for that matter? These are questions for which the answers are elusive and coveted.

I remember the dark, dark days of my son's autism. I mean the really, really dark days. The day when, for instance, he was thrown out of speech therapy for biting the therapist. That was the time when I felt the most hopeless of all. I mean, if speech therapy is where they are supposed to help them and he was thrown out, what could that mean? Where could we go from there?

What I did during that time of despair was I got in touch with 12 prayer lines that will pray for your child with autism. I really wanted people to pray for my child and I didn't care what religion or faith they were from. I was really desperate.
