Does Religion Own the Only Truth?

Jael Uribe
Sometimes I wonder if religious people's fanatism isn't dragging the already confused community away from church. I'm not a religious person nor I'm against any religion. I love to think as myself as a very spiritual person, but when it comes to talk about the subject religion sincerely gives me the creeps.

I've been to church and known many types of religious people, and all of them have this one thing in common: Most of their members are so fanatic and blinded by what they belief, they don't even care to learn anything else about other beliefs or doctrines. It almost makes you think they are terrified of discovering something into other religions that would drag them out of their own.

Why do people get so blinded when they join a religion? They don't care to see anything far beyond of what they are told in church...How could it be that people still feels that way in plenty 21st century and after all we've been through? It's like they've gotten totally brainwashed.

Considering that attitude makes me suppose most of them believe they own the absolute truth and that they don't want to recognize there is also wisdom in many other beliefs rather than theirs, which can also turn us into better people.

I'm not confused about what I believe, I read books of every single belief that I can get a hold to, I just don't want to be taken for an ignorant when the religion subject comes out from any occasional conversation. I want to feel I have my very own strong point of view to debate.

I don't want to live closing my mind to what others have to say, just take the good out of everything and apply it to myself, to all I do and occasionally, use it to help others as long as they allow me too.

I sincerely think that's what most religious people should be doing right now instead of bothering that much about how others manage their lives. Jesus never said love each other Christians, Buddhists, Catholics, Mormons, he said love one another.

oh come one, give me break it just my first article here...having my own point of view doesn't mean I'm goin to hell...you are giving people a perfect example of what I mean exactly! Can you bookmark and limite God to one book and one thruth only? The fact that I don't use bibble words to defend the same thing you are defending? I don't use bible words since I have words of my own inspired but those who use Gods name discourage others by being blinded by religion tricks...and no, I don't dissapoint God by saying so since everyone knows and see clearly whats going on in many religion beliefs. I'm not lost, and you said...I don't need some tell me what is my path since i'm already waking it and my intention with this articles was to call the attetion of many that care so much to defend a religion and don't see tha God is everywhere in avery other brother not limitated to one religio...but you, as many others, got it all wrong...I think you got lost in my article message. Have a nice d

I love reading your articles, they are inspiring and positive. This article was disappointing because it shows that you are lost. I feel sad for you and can relate. The advice I can give you on this topic is to believe in Jesus. Jesus said He is the Way, the Truth and the Light...No One goes to the Father except through Him. I do not write this to discourage you in anyway, but to encourage you to read His Word. Again, I love reading your articles, you are one of those people who has a gift of inspiring others and a genuine caring personality that comes out in your writing. I hope you find your way.

It is very important to have an open mind particularly when it comes to religion. Very nicely stated.
