Does Ron Paul Scare the Main Stream Media?

Pamala L. Ott
Over the last weeks while watching the social networking news websites, a trend has appeared among articles submitted. Ron Paul is continually being left out of polls, debate reviews and political news in general.

The most recent example was being left out of Glenn Beck's poll on his website. What is the reason for being left off? Ron Paul supporters say that it's because Ron Paul cancelled an appearance to instead appear on The Situation Room. But that begs the question, isn't being on The Situation Room, a CNN program, mean that Ron Paul is getting the media exposure his supporters want him to get?

Another example of this so called censorship is that Ron Paul isn't being represented in IMC phone polls. At first one may think that they only represented major players in their question of who people would vote for if the primaries were today, but with Fred Thompson appearing on the list, it does beg the question why Ron Paul wasn't included? Was Fred Thompson only included because he's a Television star and has a recognizable name?

Then there was the incident when CNBC.com pulled down their opinion poll when Ron Paul took the lead by 75%, according to supporters. Why would they take down the poll? Is CNBC.com scared that Ron Paul had that much support? Or is it as simple as the poll was only meant to be up for a set amount of time, and it was over?

Ron Paul appeared on The View in December and had a full segment dedicated to him. Of course this isn't considered Main Stream Media to his supporters since The View is a morning talk show who's primary audience is Stay at Home Moms. He's also been interviewed by Wolf Blitzer, commented on by Bill Mahr, Hannity and Colmes and other political talk shows.

What more do Ron Paul supporters expect out of an candidate that has little to no chance of winning the primary? Do they want constant coverage on local and national news? Do they want more articles on Ron Paul? According to Google Trends, Ron Pauls news reference volume has increased steadly since May of 2004. Doing a simple Google News search for Ron Paul will pull up over 11,000 articles on him. What more can the Main Stream Media do to make Ron Paul's supporters happy? 24 hour cover? I somehow think that will never happen, and Ron Paul's supporters will never be happy.

I'm going to believe the same supporters of Ron Paul who think that the government is somehow behind 9/11?
