Does She Know?

Lisa Stanley
Does she know not what she does?

Thou has warned her once too many

Does she know how far you'll go-

Before you take the silver edge?

Does she know that her love for you

Will only burn to a bitter end ?

Flames engulf the soul and take it.

Does she care that she will die too?

She knows the consequence and still-

She pushes forward blindly treading.

She must have what she desires

Will stop at nothing less until

You lead her to the water thirsty.

Does she see the love in your eyes

As you hold her close and steady

With one hand and raise the other

As you pierce her back with silver

All the while confessing your love

Does she know that she is dying

As the blood spills to the ground?

Does she know that your love is undying

As you take the last kiss of death?

OH my God! This poem reads like it is about suicide. So tragic.
