Dog Beheaded; Two Women Suspected

Two women arraigned on charges of threatening a witness, are suspects in the beheading of a pitbull, according to the Associated Press. Rebecca Clancy and Kelley Haden both 24, are operators of a kennel on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

Dale Paige, the dogs owner told police Clancy and Haden were watching her 2 pitbulls, Nila and Nitrous, when Nitrous's severed head was found on the hood of her car in a tin last week.

She told police that Clancey had threatened to kill her dogs if she didn't pay her $15,000 for damages to her jaguar that occurred in November when she had borrowed it.

Clancy and Haden are charged with attempting to intimidate Paige because she is a witness against them in the investigation of the beheading of the dog. Paige was in a car earlier this week when Clancy and Hayden blocked her way and allegedly threatened to kill her.

Clancy and Haden denied all allegations and Clancey told The Cape Cod times that the people speaking against her are rival dog breeders. Police investigated them after reports from people who claimed they sent money to Clancy for a puppy, but never received it.

Both women were being held on $7,500 cash bail and are due to return to court on February 15th for a pretrial hearing.
