Dog the Bounty Hunter's Racial Slurs Result in Pulled TV Ads on A&E Network

Although "Dog" has issued a public apology, has taken full responsibility for his regrettable language and has many people rushing to his defense - or at least offering excuses for why he talked to his son the way he did - advertisers are not ready to let "Dog" off the hook that easily.
In a Nov. 3 press release, Wayne Perry, president of SiCap Industries, said the company wanted to launch their 2008 television spots on A&E, particularly on the "Dog The Bounty Hunter" program. But not any longer. Perry said that Chapman "was a hero of mine until I heard a tape of him spewing racist remarks as if it meant nothing. I'm disgusted by him. He used the (N-word) multiple times in the most hateful way you could ever imagine. That's when I decided to dump his show from our marketing plans." The press release also says that Yum! Brands, Inc., parent company of several brands, including KFC, Long John Silver's, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, has also pulled their ads, referring to Dog the Bounty Hunter's remarks as "despicable."
Numerous radio and television stations have release the taped conversations - or at least the most newsworthy portions in which "Dog" directs racial epithets toward Tucker's girlfriend, who is black.
Perry seems to be fuming over "Dog's" behavior and the impact this is having on their advertising plans with A&E. He said in no uncertain terms that A&E "should pull the show completely and never air reruns or anything with Chapman ever again. A&E should wash their hands of this guy. Dog's rant has personally disrupted my faith in people, and we will never associate any of our brands with any forum that supports racism in any way. As far as we're concerned, the only way A&E will be in our ad budget next year is if they dump the Dog. This goes far beyond what Don Imus said on MSNBC, and they fired him immediately."
"Dog The Bounty Hunter" premiered on A&E on Aug. 6, 2003. Known as the world's most famous bounty hunter, "Dog" and his wife Beth have been tracking down fugitives of all kinds. In addition to Tim, Leland and Duane Lee, his daughter Baby Lyssa was to join "Dog's" posse full time. However, the future of Dog The Bounty Hunter and his posse are now in the hands of the A&E network and its sponsors.

Hang on. Duane chapman has helped protect the peopl of hawaii from the evil that is ice for years, and now as soon as he makes on slip up everyone is on his back. ITS PATHETIC. WAKE UP PEOPLE!! Dog is a great man, he is done more good in this world than bad, which is more than any of us have ever accomplished. you may call them losers chrisgoat but they have capturedhundreds of ice ehads and helped them turn their life around..what have you done! what have any of us done. I say his privacy has been invaded and his sone should be ashamed of himself. Long live DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER!!!
I am a 50 year old man and never in my life ever broken the law, but I personally think the whole Chapman family is a joke.

As for your family using the N word I know your wife Beth AKA:Alice Elizabeth Smith; I went to school with her and let me tell you she had her far share of Black men so you should be asking yourself whats that taste like.

Sinus buster wasn't even an advertiser, they were think about advertising so they say, bet they got alot of free headlines by this. Who would want to buy there products if they sink to this to get free headlines! Yum brand foods was an advertiser and had the right to do as they did.
I had several Native American friends post the story that he and his youngest son were misbehaving at a Pow Wow in Hawaii. I don't know if it is true or not, but most of the Indian community believe it and don't like it at all. I think its all just very sad. In this day and age we shouldn't have things like this happen but we still do. Great informative article though. Thank you for reporting.

The so-called famous N-word is used about 5 billion times a day in public alone,e.g: The black comedians us it in all their shows and being black is in no way a Authorization for you to use the N-word,yes it is used in anger,it's also used as a greeting by the brothers,and in basic BS talk on every campus in the nation.I don't like the N-word just like everyone else,but thats not going to stop people (Blacks Especially) from using the word.
Duanne's trembling lip, sucking in of breathe and humility on the Larry King Show wasn't put on. He looks like a man who is on the verge of a nervous breakdown. If I can see that, I hope the experts can. I wish our good Dr. Phil hadn't made so much out of Duanne not appearing on his show. I think Chapman is just so sick over what he's done it was just too much for him to appear on another show so soon.

To Jim Johnson-What Dog said was wrong. It was said in private and he will have to deal with it. But you have no room to talk. I read and re-read your post and can't balieve how tasteless YOU are. If all you can do is name call-even calling his CHILDREN names then what kind of person does that make you? I'm thinking you're the crab at the bottom of the barrel and you see your chance to climb on someone elses back/mistakes to elevate yourself. Guess what? It doesn't work.
