On Sunday September 12th bring your furry family member to "Dog Day at the Bay." This event is held every year at the "Papio Bay Aquatic Park" in Papillion, Nebraska. The park is located at 815 East Halleck Street, which is in downtown Papillion. Dogs of all ages are welcome to participate; however small dogs weighing 50 pounds and under will have to enjoy the water in the baby pool area.
"Dog Day at the Bay" is a free event but donations will be accepted at the door upon arrival. These donations will greatly benefit the "Papio Dog Park" and obviously a great environment is always beneficial to our favorite pooch.
Because our schedules seem to change at a moment's notice a good thing about this event is you do not have to pre-register your dog. All you have to do is show up and take a dip in the pool.
Dogs aren't the only ones allowed to get wet behind the ears. Their owners can swim right along with them. Just make sure you lather on the sun screen; not on your dog but on you of course.
In addition to the swimming pool your dog can get its picture taken, enjoy some yummy dog treats, they will receive a doggy bag, and they can get a nail trimming. Look at it as a day of pampering for your pooch.
As with everything there are some rules and regulations that must be followed to make this event a success and safe for everyone.
1. All dogs must wear a collar or harness that has a current license and it must be held by a leash when coming in and leaving the park.
2. All dogs must be controlled by their owners at all times through voice commands.
3. All Dogs must have a current certification of vaccinations against rabies.
4. Aggressive dogs will not be allowed in the park.
Festivities begin at 1:00 pm and end at 4:00 pm so come on out with your furry family member and have a great time together. Summertime is exciting for everyone so let your dog in on the fun and come on out to the "2010 Dog Day at the Bay" in Papillion, Nebraska.
