Dog Days

T.C. Hana
My loyal friend who trots and walks,
Who loves the fields and tall corn stalks.
You love the park, and city sidewalks,
How I remember the dog days.

You kiss my face when I awake,
You bring me the paper and my Cornflakes.
You love to carry my paper plates,
How I remember the dog days.

You snuggle close on winter nights,
You love to sit by the fires light.
The cold white snow brings you fright,
How I remember the dog days.

There's a blanket or two you completely adore,
Your the one I bought them for!
When you want to go out, you run to the door,
How I remember the dog days.

Summer is here, and you are gone,
Now I am sitting all alone,
Your not here to share my ice cream cone,
I really miss those dog days.
