Farewell
To the dog days.
Those sultry summer days
Now flee the scene as August wanes.
No more sweltering days and sticky nights;
Summer lingers, with cooling hints
Of approaching autumn
So long, dog days...
Farewell.

No more sweltering days and sticky nights;
Summer lingers, with cooling hints
Of approaching autumn
So long, dog days...
Farewell.

I prefer the autumn days but it has been a short summer.
Dog days aren't quite done yet. Very enjoyable poem.
Nicely done! I can't wait till it cools off here. Triple digits for a month on end is just too much!
I love the end of summer. Heat and I do not get along well. Plus, school starts at the end of summer, and I love that!
