Dog Degrees: What Breed of Dog Could Earn a College Degree?

Nick
There are many types of dog breeds around. Some are generally smarter than another, and one breed might be better at working than another. In this article I will give you the different breeds, and there placement in the ranking of Intelligence. The ranks go in order from Most Intelligent to Least Intelligent.

Intelligence:
Border Collie! The Border Collie is by far the smartest breed of dog around today! This breed originated in the border country of Scotland and England. For hundreds of years, Shepards would use these dogs to round up livestock and herd them into a pen. This made the work of the Shepards easier as the dogs would scare the animals into there rightful pen. This type of dog is extremely easy to train, and has lots of energy! Being a medium-sized dog, they are well proportioned in size.
Poodle. A very small, but smart dog! Poodles are often associated with older, wealthy women. There are three types of poodles: The Standard Poodle, The Miniature Poodle, and The Toy Poodle. One thing that makes the Poodle popular is that their coat is very fluffy, and elegant.
German Shepherd. These dogs are extremely intelligent, as they are the picked breed to assist police and investigators uncover hidden drugs or runaway suspects. When they are used for police purposes, they can be very aggressive when given a certain command by their master, otherwise they are calm animals.
Golden Retriever. Very nice, calm dogs. They are generally large dogs, but can be taught to do a lot! They get their name because their coat is 99.9% of the time... Gold in color!
Doberman Pinscher. This dog is probably the best working breed around. They serve as great security dogs, as they have great senses, a lot of energy, and are fearless.
Borzoi. This dog is difficult to train, and teach. Because it does not have good smell, it relies on its excellent sight to guide. They were originally used for hunting purposes because of their large size, but that eventually stopped as hunters began to realize it was taking them more work to teach these dogs to sit than anything else!
Chow Chow. This dog is even worse than the Borzoi! It was originally used for hunting, herding, pulling, and protection of the home in ancient times. This dog is very powerful, and sturdy. It is also packaged with lots of energy. This dog would be best for a younger person, with lots of energy.
Bulldog. Surprisingly, it is actually pretty hard to train this breed. There is a stereotype going around nowadays that bulldogs, and pit bulls are the most aggressive breed. Just to set the record straight, it all depends in which environment the dog is brought up in that will make them vicious. If a pit bull is brought up to fight, like most are, they now will attack almost everything they see. Do you ever hear of a lab attacking someone? It happens. When a pit, or bulldog attacks that makes world news! (Just needed to get that out there). Bulldogs are very powerful, and generally make good companions.
Afghan Hound! This breed is the most unintelligent breed in the world today! Studies show that it is the hardest breed to train to even sit. A rather large dog, originating from Afghanistan is actually pretty rare in the Americas. This breed does not have much energy, but makes for a good friend. Based on my research, it looks as if this breed also has the longest coat.
