Dog Fighting in the South

I am not one that is a true lover of pets, but even I am aware and hate that fact that some people use dog fighting as a sport and where I am from this unfortunately is not a uncommon event.

The American Pit Bull dog is most used for fighting the owners of these type breeds normally put alot of training into this event so their dog will be prepared for fight night. Is it against the law? Yes it is, but some people just insist on doing it. It's almost like hunting season, but this season last year round and you sure don't have to go in the woods to hunt for your prey it's actually right in your back yard. It is never uncommon to see a dog fight where I am from and it is getting outrageous.

Dogfighting use to be done for gambling purposes to see who's dog wins the fight and the owner of the winning dog would be rewarded with a large amount of cash now alot of people just do it strictly for fun. Down in the South when you hear of a dogfight going on it almost like a basketball game or going to the movies you have to pay for admission to enter into these places to see the fights it's very illegal and cruel but it continues to happen.

Even entertainers and I sports stars are into this dogfighting society such as Micheal Vick you may think why would he into dogfighting it's not for the money like I said earlier it's a sport for some people it still don't make it right regardless of who is doing it. Dogfighting will probably be another crime that can't be caught easily like illegal music and movie downloads, or not wearing a seat belt, even stealing cable, and drug dealing unfortunately you can't caught them all.

This is the life of precious dogs there have to be something more done about these types of events. If the loser dog is not dead when the fight is over mostly he is near death and most times die soon after. They also have other dogs that is not of a pit bull breed that they call bait. They take these dogs to see only how well there pit bull performs these dog can be of any breed and normally are stray dogs, dog shelter dogs or even stolen dogs. Sadly dogfighting is legal in some countries, but is illegal everywhere in the United States. I guess dogs are not always a man's best friend if man will kill him without reason.
