Dog Friendly RV Parks in the Colorado Springs, Colorado Area

Deborah Anderson
Often times dog owners are also RV owners and this combination can be very interesting, especially when looking for a pet friendly RV Park. Unfortunately not all RV Parks are pet friendly, so it is better to know ahead of time before you get to your destination. Trying to find a pet friendly RV Park late at night is not something that any one would want to do. The Colorado Springs, Colorado area has three RV Parks that are considered pet friendly. They are Fountain Creek RV Park, Garden of the Gods Campground and Colorado Springs South KOA.

Fountain Creek RV Park is located at 3023 West Colorado Avenue in Colorado Springs, Colorado. RVers who choose to stay at the RV park should be aware that their dogs are welcome but their dogs will have to be on a leash when they are outside of the RV and they are not to leave their dogs outside the RV unattended. Also, if the RVer's dog barks excessively and are out of control, the RVer and their dog will be asked to leave the park. For more information on Fountain Creek RV Park, call 719-633-2192 or go here.

Garden of the Gods Campground is located at 3704 West Colorado Avenue in Colorado Springs, Colorado. RVers with dogs are welcome to stay at this RV park as long as their dog is not a Pit Bull, a Rottweiler or a Doberman Pinscher. There is also a maximum number of 3 pets per RV site. For more information on staying at Garden of the Gods Campground, call 719-475-9450 or 800-248-9451 or go here.

Colorado Springs South KOA is located at 8100 Bandley Drive, Fountain, Colorado. Even though pets are welcome at this RV park, there are several rules and regulations that will have to be followed. First of all there is a limit of 2 pets per RV site and there are no Doberman Pinschers, Rottweilers, Mastiffs or Pitt Bulldogs allowed on the property or any other aggressive breed of dog due to the insurance that the RV park carries. Also, no dogs are to be left unattended outside at any time and dogs are not allowed in any of the RV parks buildings, game areas, pavilions, pool and waterslide area or the playground area. For more information on staying at Colorado Springs South KOA, call 719-382-7575 or go here.

Even though these three RV Parks welcome dogs who travel and stay in the RV with their owners or "parents" it is important to respect others while staying here. Dogs should always be picked up after, especially when they take care of business and if your dog is prone to barking, try to keep it as quiet as possible.
