Even though dogs are welcome at each of these six RV Parks, each RVer who does visit them should abide by all the rules that pertain to dogs being allowed on the property. Some of these rules are plainly written and posted at the RV Park, but some are not. These are the "unspoken rules" and are simply the ones that dog owners who RV have to remember to follow.
Unspoken Rules
Unspoken rules are those that do not necessarily have to be posted or written down. They should be known by each dog owner and they should be followed. There are just a few of these rules and they are: keep your dog on a leash whenever you are outside your RV, keep your dog from disturbing others by excessive barking and of course the most important rule is to be sure to clean up after your dog.
Arrow Creek Campground
Arrow Creek Campground, located at 4721 East Parkway, which is Highway 321, Gatlinburg, Tn., welcomes those RVers who choose to take their dogs with them whenever they are camping in their RV. But, as with most RV Parks, there are rules that must be adhered to when they choose to make this RV park their home base while visiting the area. Of course there are the common, often unspoken, rules that must be followed as mentioned above. But, Arrow Creek Campground also has a few of its own rules to make things better for all in the RV park. This would include no dogs being left in the campground unless their owner has gotten an approval by the park management to do so. If no approval has been given, then all dogs must be either taken with the owner or they can be boarded out. There is more information on places to board your dog on the RV parks website, which is www.arrowcreekcamp.com . RVers, either with or without dogs, who do choose to stay here will have full hookups with cable and wifi on a large, level, gravel site with a fire ring and a picnic table. On the premises they will have access to a recreation room, a laundry facility, a swimming pool and more. For more information, call 865-430-7433 or to make reservations, call 888-382-7769.
Great Smoky Mountain National Park
Great Smoky Mountain National Park, located at 107 Park Headquarters Road, Gatlinburg, Tn., also welcomes RVers with dogs. Once again, the unspoken rules must be followed, but there are also park rules that must be followed. These rules include a leash length that can not be longer than 6 feet, the dogs can not be left unattended in any RV or other vehicle. There are also several places that the dogs are allowed to go including the campgrounds, down the park roads and in the picnic areas. They can also go down the Gatlin Trail and the Oconaluftee River Trail, all other trails within the park are off limits to dogs for several reasons. There are no hookups for RVs in this campground , but generators are welcome. Each campsite does have a fire grate and its own picnic table.
