#1 According to the 2011 Guinness Book of World Records, the world's tallest dog is a Great Dane named George. He is 7 foot 3 inches and lives in Tucson, Arizona. George has appeared on the Oprah show.
#2 The 2011 Guinness Book of World Records states that the world's smallest dog is a long-haired Chihuahua named Boo Boo who lives in Raceway, Kentucky. Boo Boo is 4 inches tall and weighs 24 ounces.
#3 A dog's sense of smell is about a thousand times greater than their owner's. Dogs have over two hundred million olfactory receptors; humans have only about five million.
#4 Dogs can hear more sounds than humans. Dogs can hear sounds in the 16 to 100,000 Hz frequency range. Humans hear in the 20 to 20,000 Hz range. Dogs are also able to hear sounds at four times the distance compared to humans.
#5 According to the Veterinary Pet Insurance Company, Bella is the most popular dog name of 2009, followed by Max, Bailey, Lucy and Molly. Bella is also the most popular name for newborn infants.

#9 The world's oldest living dog is an Australian Kelpie mix named Sako, as stated by the 2011 Guinness Book of World Records. Sako, who lives in Victoria, Australia, was born in 1988, and on December 7, 2010 will be 22 years old.
#10 According to the American Kennel Club, the most popular dog among dog lovers in the U.S. is the Labrador Retriever, followed by the German Shepherd, Yorkshire Terrier, Golden Retriever and Beagle.

I saw a Great Dane in a vet's office one time..they are definitely big! This is a really fun way to learn about dogs..:)
