North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue
North Carolina Mecklenburg Animal Rescue has placed over 2,000 dogs in new homes over the past ten years. You can check their site listed in the sources below for dogs that are up for adoption. You can also sponsor a dog at this Charlotte animal rescue and or donate time or money to the center.
Rescued Me
Rescued Me tries to rescue dogs that would otherwise be euthanized in the Charlotte North Carolina area. They then take these sometimes difficult dogs and rehabilitate them so they can be adopted to a loving home. They believe strongly in good nutrition for dogs and are looking for people to adopt, foster or donate to help these dogs.
Animal League of Gaston County
Not far from Charlotte we have the Animal League of Gaston County. They work with groups all over the country to help with rescuing pets and have a no kill policy. The Animal League of Gastonia can help you foster or adopt a rescue pet. They get no government funding so are asking for donations of money, time and supplies.
Project Halo
Project Halo is a no kill non profit rescue group in Charlotte North Carolina. They are privately funded are a fully volunteer group. Project Halo rescues unwanted dogs and takes care of their medical care if needed. Project Halo will be glad to help you adopt a rescue pet in the Charlotte area or take donations of time or funds.

I agree. Good information. Just Sat. after choir rehearsal, a friendly, cute black and white dog jumped in one of the members car as she opened the door. The dog had a collar on, but no identification. He sat on the passenger side like he belonged there. She plans to take him to the Dog Humane Society, but I think the dog has other plans.
