Let us start with the ant hills. They are mostly found down south and are dangerous too. Some of them are huge especially in the southern most parts of America. You need to protect the dog from these ant hills. Fire ants are another problem for dogs whether it is South Carolina or Texas. Copperhead is another snake, which is quite familiar in different areas of America. These snakes bite even when they are not provoked and their bites are extremely painful. The effect of copperhead bite depends on the size of your dog. The snakes do not have too much of venom in them and hence your dog may not suffer much if it is huge in size. However things can be difficult for your dog if it is really tiny. The bite can even prove to be fatal for small dogs.

You also need to protect your dogs from scorpions. Their sting is quite painful though it is not dangerous for life. River toads are common during the rainy season.
