Located between Golden West and Seapoint, the Huntington Dog Beach is the only portion of Huntington Beach that is dog-friendly. Of course, you should always be considerate of your fellow beachgoers and be sure to clean up after your pet. There are plenty of dog-friendly waste disposal cans in the beach area and some facilities may have plastic bags you can use for easy pickup and removal.

The Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort (21100 Pacific Coast Highway, (714) 845-8000) is the most luxurious of the dog-friendly Huntington Beach, California hotels. The entire resort is non-smoking and offers a breathtaking view of the ocean and Huntington's miles of gorgeous beaches. Each hotel room has its own private balcony and free wireless Internet access. The resort premises include a tropical swimming pool, tennis court, fitness center, and an amazing indoor waterfall. For fine on-site dining, visit the Shades Restaurant or the Shades PM Lounge. There is a pet deposit of $50 required per stay. Pets are limited to those under 20 pounds, so you may have to choose another dog-friendly hotel if you have a large breed.

The Residence Inn Huntington Beach Fountain Valley (9930 Slater Avenue, (714) 965-8000) permits larger dogs with a non-refundable $100 sanitation fee. Because this is a Residence Inn hotel, each guest room has its own separate living room and a full-service kitchen. The entire hotel property is now non-smoking. Along with standard amenities like a fitness center and swimming pool, this dog-friendly Huntington Beach hotel also offers a complimentary hot breakfast every morning and a manager's reception every evening.
