Doin' it in the Park

Will you be Doin' It in the Park . . . enjoying a FREE barbeque that is? Sundays are a way to relax and knock out some of those mundane errands and chores that you may have left behind until the last minute. A community sponsored barbeque is being held this Sunday, September 5th at McClaren Park. The 8th Annual Doin' It in the Park BBQ has become very popular over the last couple of years. Hundreds of people attended when it was held in Golden Gate Park. This year the expected turn out is over 1000 jamming guests! This family friendly event not only provides complimentary hot dogs, hamburgers, and veggie burgers, but they also have lots of activities for the kids! While you're moving and grooving to the wicked beats of the All Star DJ line up, don't forget your sunscreen, lawn chairs, blankets and a smile!

Getting There
I recommend taking public transportation to avoid the hassle of parking and traffic. Two bus lines will take you to the event and walking is minimal. Be sure to arrive early enough to get a good spot under the shade and a chance to grab some grub. Then get ready to rock until the sun sets.

By the way if you drove and find yourself in a cathartic slumber be sure to take a print out of this article with Triple A's phone number. It might come in handy when you can't find your car, let alone drive it. They promise to give you a free Tipsy Tow! So be safe and enjoy this holiday weekend.
