Dollar General Pain Reliever PM Review

Johanna Swith
I sometimes suffer from sleeplessness. My sleeping pattern is really strange, either I can't sleep for a few weeks or I can't get enough sleep. When I am tossing and turning all night long I often turn to an over the counter sleep aid to help me achieve the rest I so desperately need. We all know how not sleeping well can affect our daily routines.

I am a bargain shopper, as you might know. It is not uncommon for me to jump on a store brand product instead of spending the extra cash on the national brand. In almost every situation I have found the generic and store brands to perform just as well as the national brands. When I was at Dollar General a few weeks ago I picked up Dollar General pain reliever PM, because sometimes my inability to sleep is a result of a reoccurring pain.

I normally only take one pain reliever pm at a time. I am able to sleep without feeling groggy in the morning. This method has always worked well for me. While taking the Dollar General pain reliever pm, I was unable to sleep after taking one pill, so I took the recommended dose of 2 pain reliever pm pills. To my dismay, an hour later I was still wide awake, in pain and restless. I thought maybe the fact I took the pills at different times might have affected the performance, so the next time I needed help falling asleep while in pain I took 2 pills. I still did not fall asleep or feel any relief from my pain.

Dollar General brand pain reliever pm is not a great product. It is not as effective as Wal-Mart's equate brand. Of course it also does not compare to Tylenol pm either! Sure this store brand is literally a fraction of the cost, but it is not going to give you great results, in my opinion.

I won't be wasting my cash on Dollar General brand pain reliever pm again, and I also would not recommend this product to others. It is not as powerful or effective as other brands, and in my opinion that makes it a less than great bargain. I also found the pills slightly difficult to swallow, and they left that icky medicine taste in my mouth after taking them on several occasions. If you are going to count on a pain reliever pm type of pill to relieve sleeplessness, it should at least offer some relief.
