Dollar Tree's Flower Diffuser Distributes Fragrance in Any Room You Please

A Product Review

Charlotte Kuchinsky
I love adding fragrance to every room in my house. I think that it can set a mood, distinguish a personality, warm a room and promote a relaxing atmosphere.

Over the years, I have tried a lot of different types of fragrance distribution systems. I've tried plug-ins, automatic scents, motion activated fragrances, push button systems, reed diffusers and more. While they all work fairly well, I'm not always pleased with how they look. That's why when they came out with beautiful flower diffusers a couple of years back, I was one of the first in line to give them a try.

You may ask: What's a flower diffuser? That's a viable question because there are actually different kinds. Some of the flowers are made from wood. Some are made from tissue. A few are even made from fabric. All of them are formed into something that resembles a flower; usually in the form of a rose or peony.

Attached to the bottom of the formed flower is a long and thick rope wick. It feeds down into a glass vase that is generally square in shape. The vase can be filled with a favorite scent or essential oil.

The wick absorbs the fragrance and slowly works it up into the flower on the outside of the bottle. That's when the scent is let loose into the air.

If you haven't had the opportunity to try one of today's flower diffusers, you are definitely missing out. They are lovely to look at and hold the scent for a long time.

On a recent trip to the Dollar Tree, I noticed they have come up with their own version of this product. It is simply named Flower Diffuser. While not too catch, it is certainly appropo.

The kit comes with the vase and the flower. You must provide your own fragrance.

The square, heavy glass bottle holds 100 ml of scent. The flower - in this case resembling a carnation - is made from a material similar to that used for coffee filters.

To use the Flower Diffuser, you must first choose an essential oil orl scented oil of some kind. That is poured into the glass vase up to the bottom lip.

Insert the rope wick of the flower into the oil. Position the bottom of the flower into the vase opening so that it will remain upright and not flop to one side.

Once it is set up, you can place the Flower Diffuser wherever you choose. It is perfect for a bathroom or bedroom but it can be used anywhere.

Within the next few days, the wick will draw the fragrance oil up into the flower. Then it will release the scent into the air.

When the oil runs out, carefully remove the wick and refill the vase. The flower will remain in tact for a long time before the paper begins to wear out.

This Dollar Tree version doesn't work quite as well as some of the more expensive wood flower models. However, it does work and it is certainly cost effective at just $1. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Flower Diffuser (the name) is only available at Dollar Tree. However, there are Dollar Tree stores located throughout the U.S. Their products can also be purchased on-line through their website. Other versions of flower diffusers; however, can be purchased anywhere home fragrances and scents are available.

Flower Diffuser is made in China and is distributed by Greenbrier International, Inc. of Chesapeake, Virginia.
