Domestic Abuse

Angel Sharum

If YOU stop listening,
Do THEY stop crying?

You see the bruises
You hear her hearts screams
You do nothing
Rationalizing -you really don't KNOW anything!

The silent pleas go unanswered
Her soul withers by degree
You do nothing
Saying-someone else will help surely!

You hear the sirens
You see the flashing lights
You see the stretcher
Bearing witness to her last futile fight

Never again to be tormented
Her soul is now free
You on the other hand
Are begging for forgiveness on bended knee!

Yes, and it's always sad when people do nothing and the inevitable happens.

This poem illustrates well what happens with those around a victim of abuse. Should I or shouldn't I get involved? It's a very good poem, Angel.

Thank you katlady2. You know a poem is good when people can feel the emotion!
