This comes on the heels of a report on Hot Air entitled "CBS Report Shows Much Higher US Oil, Gas Reserve Levels Than Previously Thought." CBS, huh? More oil and gas than thought, huh? There goes the neighborhood, right lefties? Must suck to be one of you cats. At nearly every turn your emotional pleas are rejected by fact. How do you cats not consider suicide, being wrong so much of the time? If it were my ideology I so foolishly repeated and were to have it again and again factually demonstrated to be malarkey, I would consider offing myself. Of course I actually have pride and consider factual and truthful info before I flap my gums. Lefties, not so much....
So then, what to make of the talking points that "our buying Middle Eastern oil funds terrorism," as it is used as a justification for green foolishness as well as a tool of demonizing of American energy? Allow me to explain - ya know, the facts, You lefties open your ears and shut your mouths for just a sec, okay? Listen up!
Oil is not free. The Middle East has a ridiculously plentiful supply of it. The ENTIRE industrialized world operates on oil. The Middle East is LARGELY ruled by despots, theocrats and powerful tribesmen, a la the House of Saud.
So if the CBS report is accurate, and careful lefties as CBS is one of your media sycophant outlets, then what to make of us not drilling our own oil in favor of sending our billions daily to the Middle East to buy their oil? If there were one iota of truth behind the lefty talking points wouldn't they then be the first ones to argue for increased domestic energy exploration and production? I mean it is the left who screams this nonsense day and night.
In fairness to the radical left they do have a genuine quandary on their foul little paws - they hate all and especially domestic oil, coal and natural gas and they hate our buying Middle Eastern oil. They don't know if they should shit or go blind! The left can't pick which one they hate most so instead they ignore whichever one does not suit their argument at the moment. The CBS report indicates we have enough oil and gas reserves to be totally dependent from Middle Eastern oil for decades into the future at current rates of usage. And even the nutty left must agree we are the Saudi Arabia of coal. So, what the problem is, as the slang expression goes?
The problem is one of the facts not fitting in any way the lefty talking points. If we can exploit our own energy we won't send any money to the Middle East, and according to the lefties, that's a good thing. But they refuse to allow that. Of course the popular rhetoric is it's dirty, global warming and all that nonsense.
Yet global warming is being shown as mostly a condition within the minds of leftists and various other misinformed types. And the other issue herein is that even if we do not buy Middle Eastern oil, OTHER NATIONS WILL! I know to the rank and file uninformed lefty this isn't even considered, but let's use reality instead of wishful leftist talking points.
The world demands oil. Someone will buy it from the Middle East even if we don't, so the despots and theocrats all over the region will still be flush with oil wealth. If that money is in fact funding terror, it will continue to do so.
Lefties live in a zero sum world whereby if one wins someone else must lose as it were. Once again the left is so wrong it's almost jocular were it not so stupid, arrogant and frankly sad. Arab oil will be purchased by the planet even if it isn't us buying it. The zero sum mentality of the left is pervasive in almost all of their ideas. Their ideas of rich versus poor in this nation indicates that we can't, most of us anyway, be winners to some degree or another. To a lefty if one is rich it's because they abused some other person's right to that wealth as if there is a finite amount of it to be had....fools!
Yes, oil does exist in somewhat "finite" quantities, but it is not limited to only one geographic region, now is it? The Russians have plenty, as does the Middle East, Indonesia, that nut ball pal of Sean Penn Chavez has a bunch and according to CBS the US has a right smart amount of it and natural gas, and of course we are the Saudi Arabia when it comes to coal, so again, what the problem is?
If the CBS report is accurate the US is sitting on 17% of the world's known oil reserves and NOT, NOT, NOT the "2%" Obama claims. 17%, while not the be all and end all, is a damned sure large deposit. I hear the lefties sigh in unison off in the distance. THey seem to hate anything, even really good news, when it butts up against their talking points. This is a problemthe left needs to reconcile. Soon most of this will be academic anyway. Increased Republican power will see our oil drilled and a lessening of our dependence on the Middle East.
Oh, and one last thing. For the dolts, Obama and his pals especially, who even discuss touching the strategic oil reserve....do these fools grasp that such chatter is merely "feel good" nonsense. The strategic oil reserve is for EMERGENCIES - not for price spikes. As well perhaps lefties will open their minds and close their mouths (yeah, fat chance that) and grasp that tapping the strategic reserve would lower gas at the pump by about $.05 cents at best. Can you say "Yet another stupid idea brought to us all by the usual suspects?"

Post a CommentThe U.S. depends less on the Middle East for oil than it does on Canada and Mexico. Check the EIA data. Yeah, Suadi Arabia has a lot, but so do we in the form of oil-equivalent coal and gas. If we think our oil depends a lot on Islamic states, then we'd be right and be right to be afraid. The best thing to do is to drill at home, unless, of course, we LIKE Islamists, like our President does. Perhaps they'll share their oil, (what are friends for?) so we don't have to go digging up ours and spOILing our own back yards. Another good piece here, Whippy.
Spot on, Whip.
the busy Saturday :)
It was Kissinger who made the arrangement with OPEC wherein we buy their oil, and in return, they buy our T-bills. When we use the US manufactured chaos in the Middle East as our excuse to break that deal, they'll also stop buying our debt. By the end of the year 2012, some say, our dollar will be dead.
Larry posted this today in his article on yahoo: http://www.wsbtv.com/video/25764282/index.html
It's a news broadcast about the State department sending $770 to refurbish mosques in Egypt. What in the world?!? I don't know, Whippy, crazy stuff. cheers
