Donald Trump is confirming the reporting at the Yahoo Contributor network that he will defeat the Republican Presidential Candidate if he runs as a third party candidate. Speaking to Shawn Hannity of FOX News he said that if he runs as a third party candidate, the Republican Nominee will lose and the race will be between him and President Obama. Speaking with his characteristic arrogance he said he will run if he decides the Republican Nominee is unacceptable. Demonstrating total contempt for the democratic process and insulting the voters, Trump said he may run if he thinks the Republican nominee cannot win.
Repeating the Perot Scenario
It was reported that if Donald Trump ran as a third party candidate, he would be repeating the Ross Perot scenario. Ross Perot took so many votes away from the first President Bush that it enabled President Clinton to get elected. Now Trump is confirming that this will happen again if he runs as a third party candidate. The Republican Nominee will be defeated and President Obama will probably be reelected. Trump is apparently fooling himself into thinking he could actually win as a third party candidate.
A Second Tier Candidate
When Trump talked about running before, he was evaluated by many analysts and some found him wanting. He seemed to have alimited understanding of the issues. Some even questioned his motivation for running. Is he running to serve the American People or simply to advance his own business interests?
