Christmas is just around the corner. Now would be a good time to begin sharing. This article will give you five places here in Canton, IL to donate gifts for Christmas. I have personally donated in the past. Now I unfortunately am on the receiving end of the gift donations. Now more than ever it is important to give to the needy families.

First on the list is the Salvation Army. They have food baskets and the Angel tree tags in local stores including: Wal-Mart, Kmart, JC Penney, MidAmerica National Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, and Coleman Clinic. You simply pick a tag off the tree and purchase the item for the child on the tag. You may also call (309)647-0732 for more info on donating and signing up for donations.

Next is the Canton first Baptist church they have a food bank every Monday morning at 9 a.m. 301 E. Elm Canton, IL (309)647-7241. Donations are always welcome here. and they along with many other churches in the area accept gifts for children and families and distribute them to other organizations

The Canton Assembly of God accepts donations for gift and food baskets as well.(309) 647-3286 200 Stonegate Drive, Canton, IL 61520. They are very kind and a wonderful church. They also distribute gifts to families in the city of Canton for Christmas. Families need to call the number above and will be given details as to how to donate and or apply for assistance.

The Living Hope mission 154 E Chestnut St. Canton, IL 61520 (309) 647-5393 has a annual gift giving event and is always accepting donations, money ,gifts, food and anything else that could bring a smile to the face of a family in need during the holidays. They have a very long line outside their doors every year of people in need of gifts. They are in need of help themselves they suffered a fire a few years ago and it destroyed their church as well as their items for the needy. Sadly the historic building they were in was completely destroyed.

Santa's Helpers just across from Hannah's Dairy Dream is accepting gift donations as well. This is nice group of families who have started this service. People from the community volunteer and all he gifts are wrapped and labeled correctly as if they are from Santa.

These places all are very helpful to the needy families out here in Canton, IL. If you can afford to donate even a small gift or a few dollars it really does go along way. If not maybe you could donate some time to volunteer with one of these organizations. Thanks for your donations it is such a noble and kind thing to do. I personally can tell you how much of a difference your donations have made to my children. It is tough times right now for many people who normally are doing OK.
