Donate Used Clothes

Andrew Smith
Sometimes I think people forget how much they can do without even realizing it. One thing that people always forget about is how useful their old clothes can be to others in need. I have seen on many an occasion people throw out clothes without realizing that they can give them to those in need. There is no use in throwing away your clothes when you can give them to someone else. I am sure that some people feel that they shouldn't give used clothes and if you feel that way you could always buy new clothes to donate, but I think donating your used clothes is more feasible.

If you're not sure where you need to go to dentate your used clothes, you can always contact your local goodwill and they will tell you where their drop-off locations are. They will also give you a list of what they accept and what they do not accept and you can also ask them for information on what they are in need for and pass the word onto others who can help. Just make sure that you wash the clothes before you donate them and try not to donate clothes that have holes in them. As long as you make sure that nothing of importance is left in the clothes you can then easily donate them.

During the colder months in particular there is a need for winter coats. If you know people who have used coats they can donate they are always appreciated and if you feel so inclined you can purchase some coats to donate as well. This allows you to make someone else's life better and ant the same time allows you the ability to get rid of excess clothes that you would have rather just throw away. If you feel inclined to do so you can also ask about volunteer work and if none is available you could spread the word and collect used clothes from others who no longer require their use.

As long as we can all remember that every little bit helps in this world we can join together to make a bigger impact. Each day you smile and each day you help one you never know how much it will touch them and mold them for the rest of their life. Doing things with no expectation of anything in return or personal recognition is a great thing. If more people took the incentive to do their part this would surly be a better place. I think too often people forget that help is always needed and they sometimes don't realize it. It's great that people band together in times of need and emergency, but they need to continue to help even after the fact and realize that the war is never over and that the more they do for others, the great the impact it will create for everyone that is involved in its process.
