Donating After Christmas

Donations After Christmas Are Important to Those in Need

Pat Anthony
After Christmas many find they have items to donate. Most non-profit Groups continue to need help, and will be happy to accept donations, new and used. Knowing where to donate can be difficult at times.

Often after Christmas donations to some groups in may fall short. Unfortunately, some who would otherwise donate forget that those without will need help year round.

In you live in Charlotte, North Carolina, one popular group that will gladly accept donations of used and new items is the Urban Ministry Center. The UMC is located at 945 College Street in Charlotte. The wish list for this group's soup kitchen includes canned vegetables, sliced sandwich meat, paper towels and more.

Please view the website of Urban Ministry Center to determine what you may be able to donate. Food, clothing and money are needed and accepted by this group year round. The Urban Ministry Center offers housing to the homeless, lunch on a daily basis and support groups and assistance beyond what can be explained here. The site for this group can be viewed here.

The Samaritans Purse is another group that accepts donations throughout the year. Gifts of cash, clothing and daily needs items may be donated to this group at anytime. Viewing the website for Samaritan's Purse will quickly give an idea of items most needed this season.

The Salvation Army offers food and housing to a number of homeless daily. Also, those have trouble making ends meet can get some assistance from the Salvation Army as funds are available.

The Make A Wish Foundation is active in all states. View details on their website to learn if you are able to help make a wish come true.

The Ronald McDonald House is one of the easiest places to donate to. Most eating at a McDonald's Restaurant on a regular basis will know there are donation containers near the registers. However, donations may also be made at the website. View the site here to learn what is needed now.

Charitable groups often need volunteers. If your finances don't allow you to donate money, perhaps there are services you can offer that will be of some help.

Anyone not sure about a particular group they are considering volunteering with or donating to should check with the local Better Business Bureau.

Remember, those needing help today will probably need some help tomorrow. Donations to local groups or any group of your choice throughout the year may be the best way to help.
