Well, the past few years, my nails just haven't looked quite so good. The fingernails still grow long, but my thumbnails always look a mess. I have tried hair and nail pills, but nothing seems to bring back my beautiful nails. I miss them.
In the Dollar Tree store I picked up Donna Michelle Hydrating Cuticle Cream. It states on the packaging that it will soften coarse, thick, rough cuticles. At that price I thought that I would give it a try, as I had nothing to loose.
The tube in a rose/lavender color, with a shiny silver top. The net weight is 0.8 fluid ounces (24 ml.).
So for the past month I have been using this cream. I wash my hands thoroughly in the mornings, and then take the screw cap off the tube. It only takes the smallest squeeze to get a pin head size of cream.
I then put it on my fingertip and work it into the cuticle and the skin around it, of one of my nails on the opposite hand. I continue to do this for one hand, and then change hands to do the other one.
As soon as I have rubbed it into the cuticle area, and the skin around it, my nails start to shine. It doesn't say anything on the instructions, or the packaging about this, but my nails take on a new lease of life.
As I mentioned I have been using it for a month now, and my nails do look in better condition. They are no longer, or harder, but they have a 'glow' about them. I don't use nail polish, because this made them turn yellow, years ago, and also took the natural shine out of them.
You can use nail polish while using this product, but you should remove it my washing your hands, before applying the nail polish.
I really like this cuticle cream, and the faint scent is very pleasant too. I feel that I am putting back some of the moisture that life takes out of my nails.
