The season 9 Dancing with the Stars winner is Donny Osmond. The winner was announced during the Dancing with the Stars season finale, culminating a long season of dancing and eliminations. The final results for this Dancing with the Stars installment saw Donny Osmond as the winner, with Mya coming in second, and Kelly Osbourne finishing in third place. The season really seemed like it would end up with Donny Osmond as the winner, and that's the choice that several entertainment shows went with after the Monday episode of Dancing with the Stars as well. It was confirmed when the winner was announced on Tuesday night.

This was the ninth season of Dancing with the Stars, and even though some of the contestants may not be as well known as in seasons past, the show is still bringing in the ratings. Dancing with the Stars still wins its time slot every week, and is continuously in the top 5 for most watched shows each week according to the Nielsen ratings. This week will probably be no exception, as the Dancing with the Stars season finales usually end up boosting the overall ratings for the show by a couple million viewers. Those viewers that turned in saw three singers walk away with the top three spots this season.

Donny Osmond was partnered with professional dancer Kym Johnson this season, setting up a duo that could rival any of the pairs that have taken the stage during the nine seasons of Dancing with the Stars. It also showed how many fans Donny Osmond has, as he continued to be the favorite of many magazines and celebrity shows this fall, all culminating in a victory that was announced Tuesday night. It would really be interesting to see the breakdowns of votes from week to week to see if he ever had any real competition as the show progressed this year. Sure there were some other fan favorites, but in the end it seems that the sheer popularity of Donny Osmond won out in the end.

Dancing with the Stars will be back with another season in the spring, but they have done a pretty good job at keeping the contestants a secret from the press. That could help draw interest to the show in the winter months, and give a little bit of a lull from the show in order to build the excitement back up for the 10th installment. Here's to hoping that Dancing with the Stars comes up with something really special to celebrate their 10th season on the air, and that they bring in some very recognizable celebrities to make it challenging from week one.
