Donovan McNabb Free Agent Rumors: Many NFL Teams Will Be Interested in Possible 2011 Free Agent

Let the Donovan McNabb 2011 free agent rumors fly. Which NFL team will he be with in 2011? No, the Washington Redskins haven't released McNabb, but the writing is in permanent marker on the wall. Coach Mike Shanahan has said there is a chance that McNabb could be back with the 'Skins if he's willing to be a backup. McNabb has stated that he wants to stay in Washington. It doesn't matter. Come 2011, Donovan McNabb will be a free agent. The only question is who wants to sign him. Even though he is coming off what is considered his worst NFL season, there should be plenty of interested teams. Here are the top candidates to have Donovan McNabb at starting quarterback in 2011.

Vikings - Favre is looking like he is set to retire. Yes, for real this time. If that's the case, Minnesota is in need of a quarterback. Unless of course, you believe Tarvaris Jackson or Joe Webb can be their savior. Um, yeah. About that. Let me know how it feels to stand on that little limb of the tree. They have Percy Harvin and Sidney Rice at the wide out positions and, of course, the great Adrian Peterson in the backfield. Throw in Visanthe Shiancoe at tight end and a decent quarterback, they could make something happen. Would the Vikings be back in contention in 2011 if they get McNabb?

Cardinals - I like the passion Derek Anderson showed when people question his integrity. The only problem is, it doesn't matter how passionate you are if you are sucking it up on Sundays. Sorry, D.A.; that's the world you live in. Larry Fitzgerald and Steve Breston would love any kind of improvement at the quarterback position. Even if McNabb didn't play better than what he did in 2010, he would still be a vast improvement over Arizona's other options. Buyer beware for Cardinals fans though; they need a lot more than just a quarterback to get back to where they were a few years ago. The rumor of McNabb and the Cardinals hooking up is not so unlikey. After all, he does live in Arizona.

49'ers - Alex Smith or Troy Smith? Either way, does it really matter? San Francisco has a stud tight end in Vernon Davis, a couple of promising young receivers and a man named Frank Gore. If Gore stays healthy for once, then McNabb might be just the thing San Francisco needs to put themselves on top of their division. Isn't it nice to play in the NFC West?

Titans - They were willing to take on Randy Moss, even after he had overspent his welcome with two teams in that same season. After that does signing Donovan McNabb really seem too risky? Kerry Collins is all but retired, and does even Vince Young know what Vince Young is thinking? The Titans have Chris Johnson blowing by defenders in the backfield and a ton of defensive talent. McNabb has had to work with a lot less talent at the receiver position in the past than Kenny Britt. It would be intriguing to see if the Titans would gamble on a McNabb to Moss connection in 2011. Oddly enough, there might be a better chance of McNabb being in Tennesee in 2011, than Randy Moss being there.

Raiders - Jason Campbell has been very Jason Campbell like. He shows potential and does some nice things, but doesn't take those important steps forward. At this point in his career, one must be willing to take him as is and not expect him to improve too much. Is that good enough for the Raiders? If they think Campbell is holding them back, then McNabb going to the Raiders could be in the future. There were rumors of McNabb joining the Raiders in 2010.
